Royal audience to foreign envoys

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive credentials from four new envoys to Brunei.

The event took place at Singgahsana Indera Kencana of Istana Nurul Iman.

The foreign envoys are Dato' Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari of Malaysia, Mr Pham Binh Man of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr Ali Ibhrahima Sylla of the Republic of Guinea and Mr Sisa Ngombane of the Republic of South Africa.

His Majesty also consented to separately receive in audience all the four new envoys.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also granted audiences at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan to the four newly appointed envoys.

During the event, HRH welcomed the envoys and discussed bilateral matters.

Prior to High Commissioner Dato' Ku Jaafar's appointment, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar.

Ambassador Pham Binh Man was the Deputy Director General of the Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Ali Ibrahima Sylla and High Commissioner Sisa Ngombane are currently based in Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur respectively. - Borneo Bulletin (9th August 2007)
