His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to attend the nationwide gathering of Mukim and Village Consultative Council members at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
Accompanying His Majesty were HRH Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik and HRH Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
Upon their arrival at the ICC, His Majesty and other members of the royal family were greeted by the council members of the organising board, led by the Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Adanan.
The gathering began with the recitation of Quranic verses, followed by a welcoming speech by Pehin Dato Hj Adanan.
The monarch then consented to view an exhibition featuring the council's successful projects.
The exhibition portrays a platform to strengthen the spirit of togetherness, understanding, cooperation and unity.
Booths at the event are divided into sub-sections such as caring attitude activities, sports, community facing difficulties, motivated youths, community, economic and agricultural activities and building up a faithful society.
