His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, consented to receive in audience the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, Laksamana Tan Sri Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Anwar bin Hj Mohd Nor, at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday afternoon.
Accompanying the Malaysian Chief of Defence was RBAF Commander Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awang Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof.
Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha yesterday also consented to a separate audience for the wife of the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, Puan Sri Datin Siti Hapsah binti Omar. She was accompanied by the wife of the RBAF Commander, Datin Hjh Kalshom bin Hj Suhaili. The audience was also held at Istana Nurul Iman.
Laksamana Tan Sri Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Anwar was in Brunei for a four-day official farewell visit which aims at strengthening the existing friendly relations and to enhance cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries.
Besides the official farewell visit, he is also attending the Annual Sports Interaction programme between RBAF and the Malaysian Armed Forces.
