His Majesty sends congratulatory messages to Sweden

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send congratulatory messages to His Majesty King Carl Gustaf XVI of the Kingdom of Sweden and to Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt on the occasion of Sweden's National Day.

His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that have been established between Brunei and Sweden. His Majesty hopes this would be fostered and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries.

His Majesty wished His Majesty Carl Gustaf XVI good health and happiness, and for the people of Sweden to enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

At the same time, His Majesty congratulated Reinfeldt and the government and people of Sweden on their National Day. His Majesty also wished Reinfeldt good health and happiness, and for the prosperity of the people of the Kingdom of Sweden.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a similar congratulatory message to His Majesty King Carl Gustaf XVI and the royal family and sent his best wishes to Carl Bildt, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, and to the government and people of Sweden on their Flag Day.

HRH expressed his appreciation with the excellent relationship between the two countries and looks forward to continuing to work together to develop these much-valued relations both bilaterally and as partners through the ASEM and Asean-EU dialogue. - Borneo Bulletin (6th June 2007)
