His Majesty the Sultan and Yang D-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand, and General Surayud Chulanont, the Prime Minister of Thailand, on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Thai King.
His Majesty the Sultan expressed his satisfaction with the relations between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand, which have progressed steadily at the bilateral level and in Asean, regional and international forum. His Majesty hoped that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.
His Majesty the Sultan also hoped that His Majesty the Thai King would always remain in good health and happiness, and for the people of Thailand to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
In the congratulatory message to General Surayud Chulanont, the Prime Minister of Thailand, His Majesty the Sultan congratulated the Thai Prime Minister as well as the government and people of Thailand on the occasion of the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
His Majesty the Sultan also wished General Surayud Chulanont his continued good health and happiness.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to Thai Foreign Affairs Minister, Nitya Pibulsonggram, on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
In his message, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah expressed great pleasure in sending his warmest respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and all members of the Thai Royal Family, together with congratulations to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulayadej as well as the government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand on the 80th birthday of the Thai King.
HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah also expressed his appreciation to the Thai King for his personal efforts to strengthen the close cooperation shared between Brunei and Thailand and as partners in the region.
HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah wished His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the Thai Royal Family as well as Thai nationals, both at home and overseas, a very happy celebration.
