His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send congratulatory messages to German President Horst Kohler and Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel on the occasion of the anniversary of the Reunification of Germany.
In his message, the monarch expressed his gratification with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
His Majesty expressed hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and its people.
The monarch also hopes that Horst Kohler would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Germany to enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
In a similar congratulatory message to Angela Merkel, His Majesty congratulated her on the occasion of the anniversary of the Reunification of Germany.
His Majesty also wished Angela Merkel continued health and happiness.
Meanwhile, in a separate message, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah congratulated Germany Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter, the government and the people of Germany on the day of German unity.
"I particularly appreciate the warm welcome and generous hospitality you kindly provided during our Asean visits to Neremburg this year and I look forward to continuing to strengthen our much-valued friendship and cooperation," HRH added in his message.
