His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive in audience the Minister of Higher Education of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr Rawiyah bte Saud bin Ahmad Al-Busaidi.
Accompanying the minister were Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdul Rahman, Minister of Education, and Mr Ahmad bin Mohamed bin Zaher Al-Hinai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei.
Also present were Datin Paduka Dayang Hajah Salbiah binit Hj Sulaiman, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, and Dato Paduka Sheikh Hj Adnan bin Sheikh Mohammad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
His Majesty also consented to receive in audience Malaysia's Foreign Minister, Dato' Seri Syed Hamid Albar.
Also present during the audience were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Awang Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II.
In a separate audience ceremony, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha also consented to receive in audience Dr Rawiyah.
She was accompanied by Datin Hjh Edah binti Hj Md Noor, wife of the Minister of Education; Datin Hjh Masnah binti Hj Tuah, wife of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources; and Mrs Amima Mohamed Said Riyami, wife of the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman.
Her Majesty also consented to receive in audience Datin Seri Sharifah Aziah Syed Zainal Abidin, the wife of Malaysia's Foreign Minister, Dato Seri Syed Hamid Albar.
In another separate ceremony, Her Majesty consented to receive in audience Madame Nguyen Thi Phuong, the wife of the new Vietnam Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam.
