Medal of Honour for Sultan

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to receive in audience the visiting Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Ukraine, Mr Mykola Y. Azarov, at the Istana Nurul Iman.

During the audience, His Majesty was presented with a medal from Ukraine, "Cross of Honour" for exemplary services in the development of economic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Ukraine.

Mr Azarov was accompanied by Mr Anatoliy V Shapovalov, First Deputy Chairman, National Bank of Ukraine and six other Senior Officers from Ukraine on the one-day official visit.

Also present during the audience were Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Haji Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II and Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Brunei Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday hosted a luncheon at Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan for Mr Mykola Azarov.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade also attended the luncheon. (28th January 2007)
