Sultan honours M'sian General

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday consented to bestow the title of 'Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (D.P.K.T)' to the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Dato Paduka Seri Abdul Aziz bin Haji Zainal.

The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty also consented to receive the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces separately in an audience.

Present during the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Defence Pehin Datu Singamanteri Col (Ret) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awg Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof and Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei, Datuk Ali bin Abdullah.

Also present at the audience ceremony were Dayang Hajah Salbiah binti Haji Sulaiman, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office and Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Awang Haji Rashid bin Haji Abd Rahman. - Borneo Bulletin (27th March 2007)
