Tutong holds Pesta Perayaan Rakyat

In conjunction with His Majesty's 61st birthday celebrations, the Tutong District yesterday morning launched Pesta Perayaan Rakyat 2007 at the open space of the Tutong Community's Hall in Tutong Town.

Present to officiate the event was the guest of honour Awg Hj Jamain bin Momin, Acting Tutong District Officer, who was accompanied by his spouse.

Also in attendance at the event were Tutong District residents and participants of the event.

In the welcoming remarks, Pesta Perayaan Rakyat 2007 Sharing Head Coordinator, Dato Paduka Hj Muhd Taha bin Abd Rauf, said this year's event is organised by the Mukim and Village Council.

Participating in the fair were various Mukims, including Kiudang, Lamunin, Tanjung Maya, Ukong, Rambai, Pekan Tutong and Keriam Telisai, as well as various government agencies.

The guest of honour also viewed the various displays and exhibits at the event.

The fair featured more than 200 booths displaying various produces, handicrafts and items, as well as colouring and drawing competitions for children. - Borneo Bulletin (27th August 2007)
