Sultan attends Call To The Bar ceremony

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar consented to attend the Call to the Bar ceremony of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakillah Hayatul Bolkiah, RTB reported.

Also attending was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah and HRH Princess Hjh Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah.

His Majesty, Her Majesty and HRH were greeted on arrival at the Gray's Inn by Sir Robin Jacob, Treasurer of Gray's Inn, London as well as other senior officials.

The 'Call to the Bar' is a tradition in recognition of law graduates who will be barristers.

The ceremony took place at the Gray's Inn in London, a renowned legal institution in England. The Inn protects the rights and integrity of lawyers with members comprising high court judges, lawyers and other law and legal practitioners.

HRH Princess Hjh Muta-Wakillah who is the second daughter of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha was among over 80 graduates from various countries bestowed with the recognition.

Her Royal Highness graduated with a Second Class Honours Bachelor of Law Degree after completing her LLB in July 2005 at the School Of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

HRH then took the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the BPP Law School of London in August 2006 for one year.

Before taking Law in London, Her Royal Highness completed four years of studies at Universiti Brunei Darussalam in Management studies and graduated with a lower second-class honours degree. - Borneo Bulletin (24th Nov 2007)
