Crown Prince awards CIPTA winners

His Royal Highness Pengiran Muda Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday consented to present prizes and certificates to the winners of the Crown Prince CIPTA Award 2007 at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

HRH presented trophies, certificates and cash prizes to all the winners.

First-placed winners took home $6000 in cash, trophy and a certificate, while second and third places were awarded $4000 and $2000 plus trophies and certificates respectively.

HRH also consented to present consolation prizes of $500 and certificates of participation to Awang Shamsuddin bin Hj Ibrahim and Awang Hj Mohd Harun bin Abdullah for winning the fourth and fifth place respectively.

Prior to the ceremony, Dr Hjh Naemah binti Haji Basir, Acting Director of Institute Technology Brunei (ITB), presented a welcoming speech informing what CIPTA was all about.

HRH the Crown Prince then consented to take a group photo with winners in both categories before proceeding to launch and view the CIPTA exhibition held at The Mall in Gadong.

The exhibition, which will run until March 24, displays the creations for the Crown Prince CIPTA Award 2007 comprising all the 16 participants from both categories. Also taking part in the exhibition are some of the event sponsors that include the IT industries and finance. - Borneo Bulletin (23rd March 2007)
