His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive in separate audiences Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Armament Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), People's Republic of China, General Chen Bingde and Pakistan's Minister of Health Mohammad Nasir Khan and delegation.
The audiences took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.
During the audience with the Chinese General, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awg Hj Halbi Hj Mohd Yusof and the Ambassador of China to Brunei Ms Tong Xiaoling were present.
Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Datin Paduka Dyg Hjh Salbiah Hj Sulaiman and Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Dato Paduka Hj Abd Rashid Hj Abd Rahman were also present.
General Chen Binge's three-day official visit to the Sultanate is aimed at strengthening the friendly relations between both countries while exploring opportunities for further cooperation between RBAF and the People's Liberation Army.
Meanwhile, during the audience to Pakistan's Minister of Health, Brunei's Minister of Health Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Awg Suyoi Hj Osman, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Major General (R) Syed Haider Jawed, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Pg Dato Paduka Hj Abd Hamid Pg Hj Mohd Yassin and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Dato Paduka Awg Yusof Amba were also present.
