Royal condolences to Thailand

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of condolence to General Surayud Chulanont (Rtd), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, following the plane crash in Phuket on Sunday, September 16.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his sadness at the loss of lives as a result of the plane crash.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand especially to the bereaved families of the victims.

The One-Two-Go budget flight was carrying 123 passengers and seven crew from Bangkok to Phuket when it skidded off the runway while landing in driving wind and rain, catching fire and killing 89 people. - Borneo Bulletin (20th September 2007)
