Sultan congratulates President Hu on China's National Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China and Mr Wen Jiaboa, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, on the occasion of the National Day of the People's Republic of China.

His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had so long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China.

His Majesty hoped that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.

His Majesty also hoped that President Hu Jintao would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the People's Republic of China to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

In his message to Mr Wen Jiabao, His Majesty congratulated Mr Wen Jiabao on the occasion of the National Day of the People's Republic of China. His Majesty also wished his continued good health and happiness.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a congratulatory message to Mr Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, People's Republic of China.

HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah sent his warmest congratulations to Mr Yang Jiechi and the government and people of China on the 58th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah said, "It has been a pleasure working together with Mr Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, People's Republic of China, in enhancing the excellent relations enjoyed by our two countries.

"This year we have enjoyed much success in many areas of cooperation both bilaterally and through our common work in regional and international affairs. I look forward in continuing this work together in the coming year," said HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah. - Borneo Bulletin (1st Oct 2007)
