HRH Princess Hjh Masna graces Girl Guides event

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, President of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam, consented to attend the Tenderfoot Badge and Presentation of Warrant Cards and Pre-Warrant Cards held by the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association at Rimba II Primary School on Thursday.

Over 280 Brownies, 131 Girl Guides and 38 Guiders and Brownie Guiders received their Tenderfoot badges from Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Masna at the event.

The event also saw the presentation of Warrant Cards to 43 guiders and Young Leaders and Pre-Warrant Cards to 25 Guide Guiders and Brownie Guiders. Meanwhile, the Girl Guides Association also issued Warrant Cards to all its adult members to give them permission to run their respective Companies, Packs and Units in colleges, schools and among the community.

Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Masna's attendance at the event shows the strong commitment and attention of Her Royal Highness to the welfare and development of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam. This has given members of the association the motivation to become more committed in promoting the vision of the association for all Girl Guide members in the country, said the Chairperson of the event committee, Dayang Mariam binti Haji Md Gais in her welcoming speech at the event.

This year, Brownie Books will be provided to all Brownie members for free as part of the contributions by the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association. The Test Books have been utilised for over 25 years as part of the guidelines for all Brownie members. The book was revised and edited last year, and the newly revised version will be published by next year, she added. - Borneo Bulletin (1st June 2007)
