Prince Mohamed stresses importance of dialogue

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday attended an East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers Luncheon at the Philippine International Convention Centre in Manila with other Foreign Ministers of Asean, Australia, China, India, Japan the Republic of Korea and New Zealand.

His Royal Highness then attended the Asean Plus Three Foreign Ministers Meeting at the Convention Centre. The meeting brought together Foreign Ministers of Asean member countries, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. Ministers reviewed the progress of Asean Plus Three cooperation and discussed outstanding regional matters.

His Royal Highness expressed appreciation for the good progress made in Asean Plus Three cooperation. His Royal Highness summarized the difficult current situations in North Korea, Iraq and Iran and stressed the importance of continued dialogue.

His Royal Highness also expressed his appreciation for current efforts being made to meet the challenges of climate change.

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah, later attended a dinner hosted by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines. - Borneo Bulletin (1st August 2007)
