The rapid yet balanced development of Temburong District is the result of fair and wise planning and management with proper consideration of the interests of the people. These are the very foundations laid by the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
This was stated by the Acting Temburong District Officer, Awg Hj Mohd Abdoh bin DSS Hj Abd Salam in his speech at the royal get-together with the people in Temburong District yesterday.
Awg Hj Abdoh added that as proof of the process of continuous development in the district, His Majesty's Government has continued to make efforts to "improve the livelihood of the people of this district by improving the services and amenities enjoyed by the people of Temburong".
The Acting Temburong District Officer cited the example of the construction of the new Bumiputera Complex in Bangar Town - a project under the 8th National Development Plan - which is meant to facilitate the movement of economic activity of the community in the district.
"The Mukim and village consultative councils have worked together in unison with government agencies in safeguarding the safety and harmony, as well as contributing to the economy and beauty of the villages," said Awg Hj Abdoh.
"The project of the development of villages through the village excellence award programme has encouraged Mukim and village consultative councils to continue to be active."
The Acting Temburong District Officer further said that Temburong District will "answer the call to expose village products through the 'One Mukim, One Product' long-term project".
