Prince lauds 'Heart of Borneo'

Ministers attending the Plenary Session of the 16th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting held this week in Nuremberg Germany conducted briefings on recent developments, assessed current cooperation and exchanged views about the future of the group on its second and final day of the deliberations.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade highlighted the "Heart of Borneo" programme as an excellent example of modern multilateral cooperation in complex environmental matters.

His Royal Highness later joined colleagues at a Working Lunch at which His Royal Highness led discussions on the Asia-Europe Meeting and East Asia Summit. Ministers also discussed matters of immediate concern, including energy security and climate change.

The Ministers endorsed the "Nuremberg Declaration on an Enhanced ASEAN-EU Partnership" and the "Co-Chairmen's Statement".

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah left Nuremberg yesterday evening. (17th March 2007)
