His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Dr Hj Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, on the occasion of Indonesian's 62nd Independence Day.
In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had so long been established between the two countries.
His Majesty hoped that this would be maintained and enhanced for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.
His Majesty prays that the Indonesian president would always remain in good health and happiness, and for the people of the Republic of Indonesia to always enjoy continued progress, peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a similar congratulatory message to Dr Nur Hassan Wirayuda, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.
In the message, HRH said that it has been a great pleasure working with the minister over the past years as neighbours, friends and partners in the region.
