His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam had consented to send congratulatory messages to Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of the Republic of France and Mr Francois Fillon, the Prime Minister of the Republic of France on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of France.
In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of France. His Majesty expressed his confidence that both countries had much to look forward to in the pursuit of shared ideals and objectives for the benefits of the two countries and peoples.
His Majesty also hoped that Mr Sarkozy would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the Republic of France to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
At the same time, in a similar congratulatory message to Mr Francois Fillon, the Prime Minister of France, His Majesty congratulated the Prime Minister and the government and people of France on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of France.
His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations between the two countries. His Majesty also expressed his wish that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.
His Majesty also wished Mr Fillon his continued good health and happiness and for the prosperity of the people of France.
Meanwhile in a separate congratulatory message, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent his warmest congratulations and best wishes to Mr Bernard Kouchner, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of France on its National Day.
HRH expressed his appreciation for the friendship and cooperation shared by the two countries and looked forward to working together to strengthen the much-valued relations.
