The early launch of the Sutera 2006 book was to make available reliable reference materials to members of the public regarding the events and dates of His Majesty's 60th Birthday Celebration.

The Minister of Home Affairs also presented the Sutera 2006 book and His Majesty's 60th Birthday Celebration poster to the district officers of Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong.

The Sutera 2006 contains detailed information on events and activties being lined up for His Majesty's 60th Birthday Celebration in the four districts, articles and photographs of last year's celebration as well as a list of administrative committee members and event committee members.

It also includes messages of felicitation and best wishes from the people of Brunei Darussalam who give their solid support and cooperation in organising His Majesty's 60th Birthday Celebration.

The Sutera 2006 is meant to make the Royal Celebration merrier and information made available in the book might be helpful to those who plan to attend as many events and activities during the festivities.

According to Dato Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail, co-chairman for the launching ceremony, the book entitled "Sutera" is an acronym derived from a Malay sentence "Sambutan Ulang Tahun Keputeraaan".

The publication is an effort made by the Publication Work and Souvenirs Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs that was fully funded through advertisement and congratulatory messages that are published in the book.

There are more than 20 events organised in each district starting early July till end of August and information on the event, time and venue are made available through the book.

Apart from Sutera 2006, a poster was also printed which shows a tabulated format of the events that are organised in each district. There are eight types of posters and one of them was distributed to the public yesterday.

Besides the book and poster, there is also the Album Dirgahayu 60, a CD compilation of several local artistes singing celebration songs.
