His Majesty presents credentials and receives letters of appointment

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Tuesday consented to present credentials to four newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam’s envoys and receive letters of appointment of two incoming diplomats of friendly nations. The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty first consented to present credentials to the newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam designate High Commissioner to United Kingdom, His Excellency Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Maidin bin Pengiran Hashim. His Majesty later consented to present credential to the newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam designate United Nation Permanent Representative, His Excellency Doctor Haji Emran bin Bahar. His Majesty then consented to present credentials to the newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam designate Ambassador to Myanmar, His Excellency Pehin Retired Brigadier General Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Abu Bakar. His Majesty also consented to present credential to the newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam designate Ambassador to Cambodia, Her Excellency Pengiran Hajah Basmilah binti Pengiran Haji Abbas.

His Majesty later consented to receive letter of appointment of the newly-appointed High Commissioner of Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Mr. Joseph K. H. Koh. His Majesty also consented to receive letter of appointment of the newly-appointed High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Her Excellency Doctor Ruth Penelope Adler.

His Majesty then consented to grant an audience to the four newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam’s envoy to friendly nations. His Majesty also consented to receive in separate audiences the two newly-appointed diplomats of friendly nations. Also present at the audiences were the Minister of Education, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Rahman, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Pehin Dato Seri Paduka Lim Jock Seng, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar and the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sallehuddin.
