Earlier Monday, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Versailles Palace, which is located about 20km from Paris.

The Versailles Palace is a royal chateau, of which the village of Versailles has grown to become a full-fledged city.

From 1682, when King Louis the Fourteenth moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in 1789, the court of Versailles was the centre of power under the Ancient Regime.

At the palace, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Royal Opera, the King's Chamber, the Hall of Mirrors and the gardens.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik and Prince Abdul Qawi. - Borneo Bulletin (7th June 2006)
