Royal greetings to Sweden

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam sent congratulatory messages to His Majesty King Carl Gustaf XVI of the Kingdom of Sweden and to Prime Minister Goran Persson on the occasion of Sweden's National Day.

His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that has been established between Brunei and Sweden and hoped this would be fostered and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries.

His Majesty also hoped His Majesty Carl Gustaf XVI would remain well and happy and for the people of Sweden to enjoy lasting progress and prosperity.

His Majesty also congratulated Prime Minister Goran Persson and the government and people of Sweden on their National Day.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, presented his respects to His Majesty King Carl Gustaf XVI and the royal family and congratulated and sent his best wishes to Jan Eliasson, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, and to the government and people of Sweden on their Flag Day.

He said he greatly values the cooperative relations that exist between Brunei and Sweden and he looks forward to future opportunities to continue developing these much-valued ties. - Borneo Bulletin (7th June 2006)
