Float procession lights up capital

In last night's Malam Serumpun Seri 60, the much-awaited float procession began at the Taman Sir Omar Ali Saiffudien in the capital.

Cultural performances were presented by Tutong, Temburong and Belait residents, PDS students, "Kerlipan Bintang-Bintang Tanah Air,' delegates from Propinsi Lampung Indonesia, and invited artistes from Malaysia and Indonesia.

A mass dance, Gemala Sari, was the event's grand finale.

His Majesty the Sultan also presented prizes to the winners of the Tug of War Invitational competition and the float procession. - Borneo Bulletin (6th August 2006)
