To celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Baiduri Bank Group last night hosted an appreciation banquet, Malam Silaturahim 2006, for its Muslim customers and business associates at Jerudong Park Polo Club's Royal Berkshire Ballroom.
Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pg Anak Hajah Zariah, Chairperson of the Baiduri Bank Group, was present as the event's guest of honour, accompanied by other members of the royal family, together with over 500 guests that included senior government officials as well as prominent local business leaders and professionals.
HRH Pg Anak Hjh Zariah also presented donations to the RIPAS Hospital's Paediatrics Department, Special Education Unit for the Blind and the Special Olympics.
Baiduri Bank's General Manager Mr Pierre Imhoff said, "2006 has been an exciting year for the Baiduri Bank Group, with a number of major achievements and initiatives launched.
"We have also entered into a new frontier by expanding fee-income business and our suite of financial products to meet a more diverse range of customers' needs and goals."
"In the car financing industry, our fully owned subsidiary Baiduri Finance emerges clearly as the market leader, and continues to grow rapidly in terms of business volume and profitability.
"It is also the only finance company in Brunei certified to the ISO 9001 international quality standards, as was re-certified for the second time this year," he added.
Over the year, Baiduri Bank has set up a Wealth Management Unit that includes structured deposits and Bancassurance through a strategic tie-up with American International Assurance Company, Limited (AIA).
In addition to introducing the Certificate in Financial Planning programme, which is taught by the Singapore College of Insurance (its first batch of 23 graduates held a graduation ceremony only a few days ago), it also launched the Baiduri SME Programme, which is designed to assist SMEs in the country.
During last night's dinner, guests were entertained with Balinese and Javanese cultural performances by the Batavia Dancers, contemporary Malay numbers by Denada and Tia from Akademi Fantasi Indosiar, as well as a number of songs by local artistes.
Guests were also invited to participate in a Rebana repertoire under the guidance of a professional composer and a festive draw was held for the banquet's attendees.
