In conjunction with His Majesty's 60th Birthday celebrations, the Kg Tanah Jambu Con-sultative Council has lined up various events including sports and social activities.
The upcoming events were discussed yesterday at a meeting chaired by the Ketua Kampong of Tanah Jambu, Hj Asar bin Hj Baruddin, at Restaurant Binjai Raya.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Indonesian community in the Sultanate who will be working together with the consultative council to further enliven the events.
The meeting began with a recital of Surah Al-Fatihah.
The sports and social events will include racing competitions, a remote control boat demonstration and a bazaar in which kampong residents can participate, selling products such as food and drink.
A 'Fiesta 60' will be held on August 27 at the same location as in previous years. The events will commence at 8am.
According to Hj Asar, this year's Fiesta 60 will include a Dangdut show organised by the Indonesian community in Brunei Darussalam. Fiesta 60 is organised jointly by the Kg Tanah Jambu Consultative Council and the Indonesian community.
The Ketua Kampong meanwhile hoped the event will be a memorable success.
