His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan yesterday morning visited the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
His Majesty, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, was greeted upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison by Deputy Minister of Defence, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof.
His Majesty consented to receive a royal salute from personnel of the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces.
His Majesty later consented to welcome His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to the Ministry of Defence Bolkiah Garrison. Their Majesties consented to receive a royal salute.
One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of the Special Combat Squadron (SCS) Honorary Badge and Beret to His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.
Earlier, Their Majesties boarded a helicopter at Bolkiah Garrison and headed to Ulu Sungai Majiwan, Temburong District. A Special Combat Squadron (SCS) demonstration was held for both Their Majesties at the jungles of Ulu Sungai Majiwan.
His Majesty and His Majesty King Abdullah proceeded to the VVIP Shooting and Presentation Ceremony Area where the Jordanian King was presented with the SCS Honorary Badge and Beret.
Before leaving Temburong District, a luncheon was held at the Bangar Camp Officers' Mess. Their Majesties signed the visit parchments and planted two trees to commemorate the visit.
His Majesty King Abdullah is in Brunei for a three-day private visit. His Majesty King Abdullah last visited the country in February 2004.
