Brunei Shell contributes to royal b'day celebration

Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd (BST) and Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM), contributed $50,000 for a number of activities in conjunction with His Majesty's 60th birthday celebration.

The contribution covers the construction of the Cendera Kenangan Kekal in Bandar Seri Begawan, Dirgahayu Emas Di-Raja Concert and the Thanksgiving and Loyalty Oath Ceremony.

Awang Haji Mohd Zaini bin Haji Awg Omar, Acting External Affairs Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) on behalf of BSP/BST/BSM handed over the cheque to Pehin Dato Awg Hj Adanan bin Pehin Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Home Affairs.

The presentation took place at Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong on Tuesday.

BSP, BST and BSM will be involved in a number of activities to highlight the ongoing festivities including the get-together event with His Majesty and subjects, the Gemilang exhibition, Pesta Rakit as well as decorations at Dewan Santap and Kuala Belait fields.

In addition, there will also be supporting events held in Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Temburong in preparation for the grand celebrations that include the International Tattoo 2006, Serumpun Budaya, street decorations such as arches and lightings, the float procession, tug-of-war and the publication of 'Sutera' magazine. - Borneo Bulletin (31st May 2006)
