Crown Prince arrives in Manila

His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah arrived in Manila, Philippines yesterday afternoon for an official visit. Their Royal Highnesses are accompanied by Prince Abdul Qawi.

On arrival at the Bulwagan Kalayaan Villamor Airbase, Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by Mr Jerril Santos, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs, Major General Pedrito Cadungog, Chief of Air Staff, Mr Yen Macabenta, Chairman of the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines, and Ms Virginia H Benavidez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam.

Also present at the Airbase to greet Their Royal Highnesses was Emaleen Abdul Rahman Teo, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines.

During the visit, Their Royal Highnesses will pay a courtesy call on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the Malacanang Presidential Palace and attend a welcoming dinner in their honour hosted by the President.

Also on the itinerary, His Royal Highness is expected to visit the National Disaster Coordinating Council at the Department of National Defence in Manila. The National Disaster Coordinating Council serves as the President's main advisor and coordinator on disaster preparedness programmes, operations and rehabilitation.

HRH Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah will be competing in the 2006 World Pool Championships, which the Philippines is hosting from November 4 to 12 at the Philippine International Convention Centre. - Borneo Bulletin (2nd Nov 2006)
