His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office highlighted the peaceful and prosperous state of Brunei Darussalam that enable the rakyat and citizens to celebrate the 60th birthday anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam this July. In his remarks at the Third Meeting of the National Committee of the Royal Birthday Celebrations Monday, His Royal Highness expressed his confidence that the high spirit, determination and cooperation shown by members of the committee will ensure that every celebratory event, either at the national or district level, is successful. The joyous occasion, His Royal Highness added, will not only be felt by the rakyat and citizens but is also shared with foreign tourists.
Earlier, on arrival at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong, His Royal Highness was greeted by the Chief of Adat Istiadat, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz, Adviser and Deputy Chairman to the National Committee of His Majesty’s 60th Birthday Celebration; the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Adanan in his capacity as Chairman, and other committee members.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness who is “Patron” to the National Committee was briefed of preparations in Brunei’s four districts. It was attended by Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Permanent Secretaries, District Officers and senior officers from various ministries. Among matters discussed was the concept for the traditional get-together ceremony between His Majesty and his rakyat and citizens. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s itinerary concluded with a luncheon. The Crown Prince’s presence clearly shows his deep concern toward the implementation of state ceremonies and serves as encouragement to all concerned to be more committed and dedicated.
