Bands fine-tune for royal guard of honour

Military bands from four countries yesterday morning got together to rehearse for the Guard of Honour during the Brunei International Tattoo 2006 which is scheduled to take place on July 29, 2006.

Around 200 personnel from the Home, Malaysian, Singapore and the British contingents took part in the practice at the National Stadium.

According to Lt Azhar of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the coordinator for the BIT 2006, this was the first combined rehearsal involving the military bands from the four countries.

The military bands have been specially selected to play the music for the Guard of Honour which will be inspected by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during the BIT 2006, Lt Azhar added.

Lt Azhar said that the rehearsal went very well.

The conductors who oversaw the rehearsal were Inspector Mohammad, Director of Music, Royal Brunei Police Force, and Captain Awang Jaya, Director of Music, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. - Borneo Bulletin (27th July 2006)
