His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive in audience General Generoso S Senga, Chief of Staff of the Philippines Armed Forces.
The audience took place at the Istana Nurul Iman. The General is on an official visit to the country.
The Philippines General was accompanied by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awg Hj Halbi, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and Ms Virginia H. Benavidez, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the country.
During the audience, His Majesty was briefed on developments pertaining to defence matters and also on other bilateral matters of mutual interest to both countries.
Also present during the audience were Pg. Dato Paduka Hj Abd Hamid, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, and Pg. Dato Paduka Mashor, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
