Each year on the 22nd of February, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world celebrate “World Thinking Day”. This year’s celebration carries the theme “Adolescent Health Issues Worldwide”. Her Royal Highness then viewed an exhibition on Healthy Eating put up by the Ministry of Health.
Among the global healthy issues touched on are making healthy food choices, developing self-esteem, discovering the impact of hunger on healthy development, understanding eating disorders and much more.
The Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam is actively involved in community development and collaborates closely with government departments, schools, women’s councils and other organisations offering community services and development through various projects and seminars held in the country and abroad.
Their projects among others include visits to hospitals and homes for children and people with mental and physical disabilities as well as collecting funds for various charities such as funds for orphans, or for countries affected by natural disasters to name a few.
