Crown Prince visits Ministry of Defence

His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, yesterday consented to a working visit to Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces Secretariat Office at the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison.

This was the first leg of a series of working visits for 2006 by His Royal Highness to the Ministry of Defence.

His Royal Highness was greeted upon arrival by Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Deputy Minister of Defence; Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, Commander of RBAF; Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abd Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin; Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Pengiran Dato Paduka Mashor bin Ahmad; respective Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Defence and Senior Officers of RBAF.

His Royal Highness's working visit programme commenced with a presentation on the structure and organisation of the RBAF, which was delivered by the Commander of RBAF.

Later, His Royal Highness visited the Force Capability Development Unit and Inspectorate Unit, which were recently formed under the Commander RBAF Secretariat Office.

A group photo taking session ensued where senior officers at the RBAF and Ministry of Defence posed with His Royal Highness, followed by the signing of a royal parchment in conjunction with the working visit. - Borneo Bulletin (26th Jan 2006)
