It was a grand and flawless performance by some 15,000 participants of the 22nd National Day Celebrations at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien yesterday morning.
Under cloudy skies but with comfortable temperatures in the heart of the capital, a host of organisations from the government and private sectors as well as non-profit groups gathered in unison to show their patriotic spirit.
Old and young as well as special needs people also joined in the march past and performances.
The event drew large crowds of visitors from all walks of life, including tourists such as a couple from New Zealand who extended their stay in the Sultanate after hearing about the celebrations.
Onlookers lined the streets and surrounded the venue to watch the awe-inspiring performances. The celebration also saw the participation of contingents from Philippine, Indian and Malaysian nationals associations in the march past.
The celebration commenced with the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of the Royal Family.
A multitude of photographers, professional and amateur, snapped away to capture the magical moments.
