Yahya H. Al-Qahtani, Charge d'Affaires, Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful, and peace be upon His Messenger Muhammad (SAW) and all of his companions.

My dear Muslim brothers, it gives me great honour in the occasion of Aidlifitri, the great occasion for Muslims all over the world to convey to you all greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Abdullah Ibn Abd Aziz AlSaud as well as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pg Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, members of the royal family and the brotherly people of Brunei.

May Allah (SWT) save His Majesty the Sultan and grant him good health, sustaining the Sultanate of Brunei with continuous peace, stability and prosperity.

My dear brothers, the celebration of the fortunate Aidilfitri in the Sultanate of Brunei is a privilege and great opportunity that everyone should conserve, and it will remain one of the most beautiful remembrances about this beautiful country, which has been established in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah, based on tolerance, kindness and social correction that show the true characteristics of Muslim people.

My dear brothers, it gives me pleasure to take the opportunity of this occasion to express my satisfaction of the strong and powerful relationship that links our two countries. I am sure that the near future will see more development and great enhancement in the bilateral relation between our two countries for the benefit of our people and nations.

My dear brothers, I would like also to avail myself from this opportunity to congratulate all of you once again, and to congratulate all Muslims all over the world on the occasion of blessed Aidilfitri, praying to Allah the Almighty that peace, security, glory and comfort will prevail in Muslim nations and among Muslims across the world. We pray to Allah the Almighty who facilitate our fasting and performing of prayers during month of Ramadhan.

Tomorrow, my dear brothers, we will receive and celebrate the Aidilfitri ceremony with great pleasure. It is a great opportunity for us to review problems and difficulties that have afflicted our Islamic Ummah hindering its development and prosperity. - Borneo Bulletin (23th October 2006)
