By Rosli Abidin Yahya

All systems are up and running for the population of the Brunei-Muara District to meet and greet their beloved ruler this morning at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital.

Making a final check on preparations, structures and the sound system yesterday were organising committee members Majid Alias, Mohd Abdoh Hj Damit and Pg Hj Abu Bakar bin Pg Hj Othman.

They told the Sunday Bulletin that they were satisfied with the preparation of infrastructures including the sound system.

"We have one day to go to ensure all systems are up and running. Here we are feeling satisfied that everything is in order," they said yesterday.

They added that the organising committee had given the nod that the final full-dress rehearsal last Thursday was flawless.

Meanwhile, members of the public and participants need to assemble at the venue by 7.30am today.

After witnessing the various activities planned such as the pledge of loyalty by the Penghulu-penghulu Mukim and Ketua-ketua Kampong of the Brunei-Muara District, the final of the National Tug-of-War competition in the heavyweight category, field performances by 1,200 students and the presentation of prizes to winners of tug-of-war competition, His Majesty is expected to meet the people who will be assembling in the 38 temporary camps at the Taman.

People are urged to assemble at camps designated for their respective Mukims. - Borneo Bulletin (23rd July 2006)
