His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday consented to declare the Brunei Trick Shot Masters 2006 Competition open at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Dato Major General (R) Hj Awang Mohammad bin Hj Daud, and the co-chairperson of competition, Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Awang Goh King Chin, the Managing Director of GHK Motors Sdn Bhd, and Dato Paduka Awang Hj Jemat bin Hj Ampal, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

His Royal Highness was then introduced to the players for the Brunei Trick Shot Masters 2006 - Tom Rossman @ "Dr Cue" and Bruce Barthelette @ "The Big Guy". However, Mike "Tennessee Tarzan" Massey did not manage to make it on time for the competition because of flight delays.

His Royal Highness consented to break the first cue trick shot, which involved pocketing four pool balls with each one going into the side pockets and corner pockets respectively.

In his welcoming address, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Jemat in his capacity as co-chairman of the competition said that it was the second time that such an event has been staged in the Sultanate.

He hoped that the special event would encourage young players to take part cue sport tournaments and that they would continue to upgrade themselves.

At the end of the event, HRH received a 'pesembah' from Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Awang Goh King Chin. (23rd Dec 2006)
