Tattoo roadshow in 4 districts on Sunday

The Brunei International Tattoo 2006 committee has arranged a nationwide roadshow to be held in the four districts on Sunday, July 23.

There will be three separate shows for the Brunei Muara District: a 4pm show by the Chinese contingent and a martial arts performance at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

At 8.45pm, the Philippine Silent Drill and Band will parade from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to Taman SOAS.

To top it off, at 9.15pm, there will be a grand parade taking the same route and performing at the Taman SOAS.

Earlier in the day, there will be a roadshow at the three other districts, starting with Temburong at 10am A boat parade along Sungai Temburong will dock at the jetty next to the District Office. They will march along Jalan Pekan Bangar and end the show at Bangar Jetty.

Performing at Temburong will be the Brunei contingent represented by the Prison and Fire Departments, Thailand, Oman and Australia.

In Tutong, contingents from the Brunei police force and bands from China, Malaysia, Pakistan and Vietnam will be performing. At 2pm, they will parade from the Tutong Mall area, pass through Jalan Pg. Hj. Ahmad and end at the Civic Centre.

Also starting at 2pm, the RBAF, Indonesia, Jordan and Singapore contingents will pass in Belait from the Kenangan Tower along Jalan Sungai, and enter Jalan McKerron.

They will stop for a static show at the stage opposite the bus stand then go to Jalan Carey towards Jalan Sultan and end at the KB Bandaran Football Field. - Borneo Bulletin (22nd July 2006)
