His Majesty to make working visit to M'sia

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is scheduled to make a three-day working visit to Malaysia starting Wednesday.

The Sultan will attend the 10th annual consultation with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi during the visit.

The Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday the annual consultation will be held at the Awana Golf, Beach and Spa Resort in Terengganu on Aug 24.

Abdullah will host a dinner for the Sultan the same day while the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, will host a luncheon for His Majesty on Aug 25.

"The annual consultation provides a platform for both leaders to exchange views on relations between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of common concern.

"At the same time, it is expected to further forge the personal relations between the two leaders and enhance and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Brunei," the statement added. - Borneo Bulletin (22nd August 2006)
