Sultan, Yudhoyono in morning stroll at Empire

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to take a morning walk around the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong with visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono yesterday morning.

Accompanying the monarch and the visiting premier during the walk were HRH Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.

After the walk, Sultan consented to attend a breakfast session with President Yudhoyono at the Empire's Bunker Café before bidding farewell to the Indonesian president.

Meanwhile, wife of Indonesian president Ibu Hajah Ani Bambang Yudhoyono yesterday observed the daily life of Kampong Ayer residents.

Upon arrival in the capital, the Indonesian first lady and her delegates were greeted by Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Awang Haji Adanan bin Pehin Dato Awang Hj Mohd Yusof and his wife, Datin Paduka Hjh Salmah bte Hj Hanafiah.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Awang Hj Dani bin Hj Ibrahim and senior government officials.

The Indonesian first lady was taken on a scenic boat ride around the biggest Malay water village, also known as "Venice of the East".

President Yudhoyono and his wife Ibu Hajah Ani Bambang Yudhoyono, who were on a two-day state visit to the Sultanate, left the country yesterday afternoon. - Borneo Bulletin (1st Mar 2006)
