More than 500 people in Tutong District yesterday participated in a walkathon to raise funds to build a monument in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 60th birthday celebrations.
The four-kilometre walkathon began and ended at the Dewan Kemasyarakatan, Tutong, which was led by Abd Mutalib bin Haji Mohd Idris, Tutong district officer.
Present as guest of honour at the event was Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran (Dr) Haji Mohd Yusof bin Pengiran Haji Abd Rahim, who also gave out winning prizes to lucky draw winners.
Also in attendance were penghulu penghulu mukim, village heads, committee members of Tertinggi Perayaan, heads of departments and the general public.
