KB meeting for HM's birthday

The Minister of Home Affairs called for a spirit of cooperation, high commitment and total harmony whenever an event is organised, especially events for His Majesty.

Pehin Dato Paduka Awang Hj Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Hj Mohd Yusof said coordination and continuous monitoring with a full commitment need to be given attention, and any problems that arise must be settled and followed up with actions.

During the Executive Committee Meeting for His Majesty's 60th Birthday for Belait District, he said the practise of consultation and cooperation will make the event more organised, perfect, and glorious, instill a feeling of understanding and strengthen togetherness.

He also hoped any programme or activities planned would receive a good response from the public, including the youth and teenagers.

He said their involvement would definitely instill a spirit of patriotism, teamwork and togetherness in contributing good deeds and increase their love for the country.

The minister's attendance at the meeting was aimed at having a closer look on the preparations and developments of the working committee members, especially for His Majesty's arrival at the Majlis Ramah Mesra and the Junjung Ziarah Bersama Rakyat on July 22 at the Padang Bandaran.

The meeting was conducted by Acting District Officer, Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Abd Rahman, Chairperson for His Majesty's 60th birthday celebration in Belait District.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Dani bin Hj Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dato Hj Md Yussof bin Hj Ismail and Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dato Paduka Haji Adanan bin Haji Hanafiah.

Several events like the Control Boat Competition on August 6 and the 2006 Classic Rafting Festival on August 13 have been planned at the national level.

The minister and senior officers from other government departments took a look at ongoing works on the royal stage at the Padang Bandaran to be used during His Majesty's arrival for the get-together. - Borneo Bulletin (19th May 2006)
