Royal congratulatory message

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send a congratulatory message to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al-Said, the Sultan of Oman, on the occasion of the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman.

In his message, the monarch expressed his satisfaction with the excellent state of bi-lateral relations and deep understanding that had long been established between Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman.

His Majesty prays that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.

The monarch also prays to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al-Said would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Oman to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, in a separate message, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah - the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade - also send a congratulatory message to Yousof bin Alawi bin Abdullah, the Minister Responsible For Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman.

"It gives me much pleasure to present my deepest respects to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the royal family, together with my congratulations and best wishes to you and to the government and people of Oman on your 36th National Day and His Majesty 66th birthday," His Royal Highness said.

"I much appreciate the long-standing friendship and cooperation shared by our two countries and look forward to many opportunities to continue strengthening our warm and friendly ties," HRH added. - Borneo Bulletin (18th Nov 2006)
