Crown Prince makes working visit to BSP

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, made a working visit to Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Company Sdn Bhd yesterday.

Upon arrival at the BSP helipad, HRH was greeted by BSP Managing Director Dr Grahaeme Henderson; Minister of Energy cum Chairman of BSP Board of Directors Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Awg Yahya; and Hj Mohamad Hj Abd Rahman, Acting Belait District officer.

HRH then proceeded to BSP head office, where he was greeted by Minister of Finance II Pehin Dato Hj Awg Abd Rahman Hj Ibrahim, who is a member of BSP Board of Directors, and Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office Dato Hj Awg Eusoff Agaki.

HRH also consented to officially launch the 'Time Tunnel Gallery', which is located at the L Block of BSP head office building.

After a tour of the gallery, HRH proceeded to Production Control Centre (PCC), where he was briefed on the roles and functions of the department by PCC Head Awg Hj Salleh Hj Mohd Daud.

HRH later drove to the Seria Crude Oil Terminal (SCOT), where BSP Asset Director Awg Hj Salleh Bustamam and other senior officers greeted HRH.

Prior to HRH's tour of the facilities, a presentation was delivered by SCOT Hydrocarbon Processing Manager Hj Mohd Jaafar Hj Awg Bakar.

HRH attended a luncheon and get together session with senior BSP staff at the Dewan Chendrawasih, Brunei Shell Recreation Club. During the luncheon, HRH consented to receive a pesambah from the managing director of BSP.

After performing mass Zohor prayers at the BSP Religious Hall, HRH proceeded to the Anduki Airfield to board a helicopter and head to the Champion 7 complex located 85 kilometres offshore, which is part of the technologically advanced Champion West operations.

Dr Henderson explained that Champion West is a 'Smart Field' project that brings together a number of cutting-edge technologies to optimise production.

Upon arrival at the offshore complex, which was HRH's last stop, HRH was welcomed by Technical Director Mr David Purvis and Awg Hj Salleh Bustamam.

HRH was taken on a tour of the oilrig and briefed on the operations of Champion 7. - Borneo Bulletin (18th May 2006)
