Thousands of loyal subjects flocked to the field of Tutong District's Community Hall Complex to extend their sincerest birthday wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Accompanying the Sultan at the get-together were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, HRH Prince Abdul Azim, HRH Prince Abdul Malik, and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen.

A series of events were organised by the Tutong District Executive Committee for His Majesty's 60th Birthday Celebrations including field performances, comprising over 1,200 students and Tutong residents. Thanks to months of meticulous planning and rehearsals, the result was a flawless display of unity and entertainment.

Following the field performances, His Majesty and the royal entourage met with the performers and other Tutong residents during a "Junjung Ziarah".

Later, the monarch launched the Arc Monument, built to mark the Sultan's 60th birthday, and officiated the opening of an exhibition themed "Excellent Leadership: The Base of Developing Nation". - Borneo Bulletin (18th July 2006)
