1,200 students at rehearsal for Get-Together with His Majesty

Around 1,200 students from secondary and primary schools in Brunei-Muara District rehearsed their performances yesterday at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in the capital for His Majesty's Get-Together session with citizens and residents scheduled this Sunday at the venue.

Yesterday's rehearsal was witnessed by Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Haji Md Yussof bin Bakar, and Assistant Brunei-Muara District Officer, Haji Jamain bin Momin.

According to school performance supervisors, the rehearsal involves students from schools in the Brunei-Muara District who will be performing traditional and contemporary dance routines. Mohd Abduh is the director of performances for the event.

Members of school orchestra bands and choir groups will also sing patriotic and choir songs, play orchestra and gulingtangan as well as the hadrah and Chinese traditional drums and gongs, they said.

"It will be a 45-minute field performance by students from the district this Sunday," said the supervisors.

The participating secondary schools are Sekolah Menengah Jamalul Alam, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College, Sekolah Menengah Menglait, Sekolah Menengah Pehin Dato Seri Maharaja Mentiri, Sekolah Menengah PAP Hajah Masna Lambak Kanan, Pusat Tingkatan Enam Berakas and Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah Gadong.

The primary schools involved are Sekolah Beribi Telanai, Sekolah Rendah Anggerek Desa, Sekolah Rendah Pulaie, Sekolah Rendah Sungai Siamas, Sekolah Rendah PAP Besar and PDS School.
