Indonesian President to visit Brunei

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit Brunei at the end of February, according to presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal.

Antara news reported that the President Yudhyono will be accompanied by First Lady Ani Bambang Yudhoyono and would begin a 2-day trip to Brunei on February 27, 2006 before proceeding to Cambodia for a visit until March 1 and head for Myanmar after that.

During his stay in Brunei, the President would have a meeting with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. He is also scheduled to meet with a number of local businessmen.

The visits to Brunei, Cambodia and Myanmar would be the first time by Yudhoyono in his capacity as the Indonesian President. President Yudhoyono would use the opportunity to promote cooperation in the economic and trade sectors with fellow Asean member countries, Dino is reported to have said. - Borneo Bulletin (18th Feb 2006)
